Here's where that house is on the map. You can see that my neighborhood is next to the Atlantic Ocean!

When I moved to Korea, my own idea of what was 'local' changed. I really enjoy living in Shinchang (really!). The transportation is quite convenient - so I can live in the countryside, but still get to Seoul quickly and cheaply. A lot of my neighbors are very friendly, too.

Pretty flowers on the Kyunghee Apt. hill in May!

Surprise! It's a campus rainbow!

Today I'm going to tell you about my hometown "Asan".
ReplyDeleteAsan is peaceful and quiet city, because this city is developed less.
Asan has moderate level of population and low traffic.
But It has a few type of transportation such as subway, bus, taxi, SCH shuttle.
I have been living here for three years. Fresh air and beautiful sights are my favorite things in my hometown.
My neighbors are almost the aged. Because the youth left for big city for education or taking a job.
My house is across the reservoir. Many people come here for fishing on weekend.
I have good neighbors next door. An old couple lives in next door on the left side. A elder pastor and his wife live in next door on the right side.
But my house stands back from the downtown. It's very inconvenient.
Sometimes, living here is a little boring. But also I think that one of the beauties of living here is that it's so peaceful.
My hometown is city of Gyeryong. Gyeryong is special city, because there is the military city. People are not many resistant and air is very fresh. And there has scene of rural area like a rice paddy and green house. Also there is located Mt.Geryong. The mountain is very beautiful in all the season. In the autumn, there exhibit the festival of military culture. But something is bad like transportations. There have bus only one route, taxi, and personally car.
ReplyDeleteHi~!
ReplyDeleteMy hometown is Osan in Gyeonggido. I born in Osan, and I live in Osan.
Osan is small city. So, most of people don't know Osan. but, that's okay. because of small city, I meet with my friends often.
Osan has moderate level of population, moderate kind of transportation. And, moderate pollution, a lot of traffic. Because, Osan is located in the middle of traffic. Many cars pass through Osan.
Do you know where Duncheon-dong is?
ReplyDeleteMy hometown is Duncheon-dong ,Gangdong-gu, Seoul.
This town is very noisy but i liked it because i felt it is liveness.
There was everything you want.
Subday, outdoor market, bus stop, Olympicpark,
High school, middle school etc...
It was so convenient.
When i was middle school student, i always go
stationery store because that store was popular among middle school student.
I introduce to my hometown. my hometown is Eumbong. I was not born there. but I have been living here since 10 years ago. Eumbong is a little village in Asan. Eumbong is friendly environment, a quiet atmosphere and the closeness to nature. because it is low population and very little traffic. so, when I want to take a walk, I can get some fresh air and sunshine in quiet surroundings and I have the gentle pace of living. But, It is lack of public transportation systems and convenience facilities. so, I wish the buses ran more often. because I missed my usual bus to work and had to wait 1 hour for the next. also, If I need to buy something, I take walk for an at least 30minutes to have to go only convenience store.
ReplyDeleteI like my hometown though. because I feel comfortable at my hometown.
