For example, every American probably remembers where they were when 9/11 happened. I was at work, and when I heard about the first plane, we thought it was strange, but we did not worry because the reports said it was a small plane. It sounded like an accident. Then we turned on the TV and saw the second plane hit the other building. I often visited New York City and I was shocked that this happened. Also, my friends lived near those buildings, and I was worried about them.
This week, I want you to tell us something about a personal memory you have about a big news event that affected you. It can be any kind of memory - sad, happy, etc. Tell us: what was the news event? Where were you at that time? How old were you? How did you feel about it?

When december 24, 2004 Tsunami hit indonesia.
ReplyDeleteThat I was 15 years old. I went to middle school. December 24 was Christmas Eve. So I was a party with my family. I ate cake and foods. I and my family made christmas tree. That time,I was very happy. But I saw the accidents on TV next day. It was terrible. Many people was died. And a number of human was missing. Because of tsunami indonesia was devastating.
When I was seven years old, I suffered a little big accident. At that time 7 a.m , I came out my house. because my father was to work, so I said to father "See you tonight". I kissed him. after say goodbye, I came back to my house and ran to stairs. When I ran to stairs, I stumbled. so I hit my forehead to corner of stairs. My forehead is torn. and bloods come out to forehead! but I didn't feel my pain. but when I went to hospital, and my forehead was sewn, I feeled very painful. I was crying.
ReplyDeleteSungnyemun is Korean's national treasure no.1. It was burnt down by arsonist in February 10th 2008. When it was burnt down, I was studying for university Entrance Examination. I was very sad because when I went Jung-gu, I saw that easily. From than on, every Korean won't see sungyemun until build again.
ReplyDeleteWhen February 18, 2003 9.53 A.M. occurred the conflagration in subway in Daegu. This conflagration made a lot of casualties. Criminal is man who is 50’s and an intelligently challenged person. He threw to the subway floor a plastic bottle lighted a fire. Reason why he did it is pessimism of his situation. Criminal went to jail and he was dead in prison. This incident took place when I was thirteen. I was very shocked by this fact due to my father’s sister dwell there. And I relaxed when my aunt was safe. I’ll never forget that accident as long as I live.

This incident occurred by a man mentally disabled.
At that time, the whole nation were shocked.
I was middle school student so took a class at school.
I heard this tragedy on the news at night with family. And a few days later I also heard casualty's last message for family. A mother's message to her little daughter, A man's message to his fiancee etc....... I am still smarting from the memory. I realized that how dear family are.
I can never forget what happened during the 2002 World Cup. Originally, I didn't like soccer. But, After watching the Worldcup, I was interested soccer. And When Korea soccer team get into semifinals, I was so happy.

When I was ten years old, I had a car accident.
ReplyDeleteMy family moved house. Car accident occurred a day housewarming. The traffic light turns green in the crosswalk as soon as I ran. Because I was so happy. Make sure the car next to you did not come to come to a traffic accident fell being. After I hit cars I panicked and ran home. It has witnessed the man came to my house. So I could go straight to the hospital. I did not hurt much. But my parents very worried about me. Luckily my sister was not injured. The moment the car hit I felt I know that I'm flying through the sky.
I still can not forget the time. Since then I check the car and cross the crosswalk. It is a terrible memory.
Cheonan Ship crash happened at the night of 26th, March. This accident took 50 naval sodiers' precious lives. Moreover, a UDT member and a rescue ship were sacrificed during the salvation pocess, causing 10 additional casualties. I heard the news on the TV at the next day with my family.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't my eyes when I saw that. We listened to the news with a mixture of surprise and horror. I was so sad more with each passing day. because I saw that the tragic accident has been tortuous for the families of the victims on TV. also I hoped no more such tragedies happen for all and the families of the victims cheer up like before.
